Terms of Service

October 15, 2026

Welcome to ShineCo Cleaning. We provide residential, commercial, and specialty cleaning services in Cambridge, Ontario, and surrounding communities. These Terms of Service explain the conditions under which our services are booked and delivered.
By booking a cleaning service by telephone, text message, email, or through our website, you agree to the applicable terms outlined below and any specific terms confirmed in your quote or service agreement.

Our Cleaning Services

ShineCo Cleaning provides professional cleaning services using trained staff, established cleaning procedures, and appropriate equipment and supplies.
Our services may be offered at a flat rate, an hourly rate, or another rate specified in your quote. The scope of work will depend on the service selected and the details confirmed at booking.
Standard cleaning, deep cleaning, and specialty cleaning services may each have different checklists and requirements. Please confirm the checklist and scope applicable to your service before your appointment.

Quotes and Scope of Work

Our quotes are based on the information provided about the property, its size, condition, accessibility, and requested services.
Flat-rate services: Flat-rate pricing assumes a reasonable level of cleanliness and an estimated amount of time based on the number and size of rooms and washrooms. If a property is significantly larger or dirtier than expected, ShineCo Cleaning may need to adjust the scope of work or propose a price adjustment. Where additional time exceeding 30 minutes is required, any price adjustment will be discussed with the client and requires authorization before proceeding.
Hourly services: Hourly services are billed in 15-minute increments at the hourly rate stated in the quote. The total cost depends on the time required and the agreed scope of work.
Additional tasks may require more time, a revised quote, or a separate appointment. We recommend requesting extra services at least 48 hours before your scheduled cleaning.

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing accurate information about the property and ensuring our cleaning team can safely and reasonably complete the agreed work.
Before the appointment, clients must:
• Arrange access to the property using an agreed entry method.
• Provide safe access to working electricity, water, drainage, ventilation, and appropriate lighting.
• Ensure walkways and entrances are reasonably safe and accessible.
• Identify delicate materials, specialty surfaces, existing damage, and any special cleaning instructions.
• Secure valuables, fragile items, confidential documents, and items that could be damaged during routine cleaning.
• Ensure children, visitors, and pets are safely managed around our staff.
• Disclose known hazards, including pest infestations, mold, bodily fluids, or other conditions that may require specialized remediation.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that the work area is reasonably accessible and that agreed cleaning tasks can be performed safely.

Access to the Property

ShineCo Cleaning must receive clear permission and instructions for entering the property before the scheduled appointment.
Access may be arranged by the client being present, providing an agreed key or access code, using an approved lockbox, or arranging access through a front desk or property manager.
Clients must provide current access instructions and any necessary security-system information in advance. If our team cannot enter the property, is turned away, or cannot safely access the work area, the service may not be completed and applicable cancellation charges may apply under our Cancellation Policy.
We take reasonable steps to keep properties secure while working and to follow agreed access procedures.

Cleaning Products and Equipment

ShineCo Cleaning supplies the cleaning products, equipment, and tools needed for the agreed service.
We may decline to use client-provided products or equipment where their safety, suitability, maintenance, or performance is uncertain. If a client requests the use of their own products or equipment, this may affect the scope of service, cleaning results, and applicability of any satisfaction guarantee.
Clients must identify specialty surfaces or materials that require particular products or cleaning methods before service begins. These may include marble or other porous stone, waxed wood, unfinished wood, and cork.

Cleaning Results and Service Limitations

We work carefully and professionally, but cleaning results depend on the condition, age, material, and prior treatment of the surfaces being cleaned.
Some stains, odours, discolouration, worn finishes, damaged grout, mold or mildew, hard-water deposits, and other longstanding conditions may not be fully removed through routine cleaning. Certain issues may require repair, restoration, or specialist treatment.
Cleaning may also temporarily disturb dust, and results can be affected by ventilation, open windows, fans, or other environmental conditions.
We do not guarantee the complete removal of every stain or the restoration of damaged or worn materials.

Safety and Workplace Conduct

ShineCo Cleaning is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for clients, employees, and others present at the property.
We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to workplace violence, threats, intimidation, and harassment. If an incident creates an immediate safety risk, our staff may stop work and leave the property. Where appropriate, emergency services may be contacted.
If violence occurs between a client and a ShineCo Cleaning employee, the service will be stopped immediately. Work completed up to that point remains payable, subject to applicable law.
We may suspend or decline service when hazardous conditions make the work unsafe or when specialized training, equipment, or remediation is required beyond our service capabilities.

Scheduling and Service Changes

Appointment times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, previous appointments, access issues, or other unforeseen circumstances. We aim to arrive within one hour of the scheduled time and will contact the client if we expect to be delayed beyond that window.
The duration of a cleaning can vary depending on the property's condition, accessibility, and requested tasks. Initial cleanings may take longer than recurring appointments.
Changes to schedules or service requirements must be arranged through ShineCo Cleaning management or the office rather than directly through cleaning staff. Rescheduled appointments are subject to availability.

Satisfaction Guarantee

If you are dissatisfied with a completed cleaning, contact ShineCo Cleaning within 24 hours of the service. We will review the concern and arrange to re-clean the affected area where the service qualifies under our satisfaction guarantee.
The guarantee does not apply where client-provided products, supplies, or equipment were used at the client's request; where a client refuses a completion walkthrough; where staff are turned away before or during the service; or where hazardous conditions, violence, or restoration needs fall outside our scope of work.
Please see our applicable service agreement for the full conditions of the guarantee.

Payment Obligations

Clients are responsible for paying for all services performed in accordance with the agreed quote, invoice, and Billing Policy.
Specialty services may require a deposit. Applicable discounts, coupons, gift certificates, and barter credits are applied to the net amount after taxes, as described in the service agreement.
Overdue accounts may be subject to service suspension, applicable charges, and collection procedures in accordance with the agreed payment terms and applicable law.

Confidentiality

ShineCo Cleaning treats client and service information as confidential and limits its use or disclosure to what is reasonably necessary to provide services, manage the client relationship, or comply with legal obligations.
Our employees are required to follow confidentiality obligations. These obligations continue after a service relationship ends, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Ending a Service Relationship

Either the client or ShineCo Cleaning may end an ongoing service arrangement by providing written notice. Any outstanding amounts for services already performed remain payable, subject to applicable law and the terms of the relevant agreement.
Recurring service rates may be discounted. If a client discontinues a recurring arrangement after only one cleaning, ShineCo Cleaning's stated one-time cleaning rate may apply as set out in the original quote or agreement.

Changes to These Terms

ShineCo Cleaning may update these Terms of Service when its services or business practices change. The latest version will be posted on our website with an effective date.
For existing bookings or signed agreements, applicable terms will be determined by the relevant agreement and applicable law. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot legally be waived.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.
Any dispute will be handled in accordance with applicable law and any valid agreement between the parties.
